Lynn and Pat Hostetler considered remodeling behind their house for more than a year. It was not until last year that they finally decided to take action. Now that the project is complete, they almost wish they would not have waited so long.

“Lynn and I had talked about doing some remodeling,” said Pat Hostetler. “We like spending time outside, but most evenings the bugs or weather would scare us off. So we wanted a screened in porch that would allow us to be closer to the outdoors, without worrying about the bugs or weather.”

Once the Hostetlers finally decided to start the project, they only considered one company, Kliethermes Homes and Remodeling.

“We chose Kliethermes because we knew they did excellent work, and know that they are fairly active in the community,” said Pat. “After meeting with Dan (Kliethermes), we were confident that he would do a wonderful job, and didn’t need look anywhere else.”

After a few initial meetings, Kliethermes presented them with a design they were excited about. The project would transform their deck into a screened in porch, and add deck space for a great view of the lake.

The Hostetlers approved the design, and asked that the job be completed in time for entertaining family before the big Missouri vs. Nebraska football game. Project manager Raymond Oberhaus was concerned about the tight deadline, especially with the challenges he was facing with the project.

“The rocky ground was difficult to deal with,” said Oberhaus. “But even more challenging was the hot weather. It took place during the late summer, one of the most hot and humid times of the year.”

Throughout the project, the Hostetlers were kept up-to-date on what was going on with the project, even down to the most minor details. They expressed their growing trust in Raymond throughout the project. They appreciated being kept aware of progress, but what surprised the Hostetlers even more was the unobtrusive nature of the project.

“We never felt crowded or intruded upon,” said Pat. “All of the workers were very polite. At stopping time, we would see the guys cleaning up any trash and debris from that day’s work. It was amazing! We hardly even noticed we were remodeling.”

When the project was completed, the Hostetlers could not have been more pleased with the process or the completed project.

“We are extremely pleased,” said Pat. “Dan stayed involved with project, and it is not often that an owner is so detail-oriented. He made sure we were happy all along the way,”

However, the Hostetlers said that they would change one thing.

“The next remodeling job we decide to do, we won’t wait so long to call Kliethermes again,” said Pat. “The deck changes our lives completely. The job was quick, easy, and now – for us – it’s a blessing.”
